January 29 | Kenya, Africa: Mombasa
My trip to Kenya comes to a close today at the city of Mombasa, Kenya’s oldest and second largest city. Mombasa, located on Mombasa Island, remains a major trade center and houses Kenya’s only large seaport, the Kilindini Harbour. While at Mombasa, I visited Old Town and Fort Jesus. This city of over 660,000 has become run-down, but I still enjoyed learning about its unique place in Kenya’s history.

My time in Kenya is over, and I am sorry that I missed visiting Lake Victoria, but I will have that opportunity later when I travel to Tanzania.
