My visit today is with some of the people who work with the Belize natives to provide medical services. Many people are ill here due to the dirty conditions and poor quality of the drinking water. Some of this problem may come from agricultural runoff or industry sewage. The deforestation of the local rainforests also harms the water supply. Belize people often do not have doctors nearby when they are sick, and people from the Belize Medical Council in Dangriga and Bella Vista try to reach areas with little health care.
