December 3 | Czech Republic: Prague
Today Katerina took me on a tour of historic Prague. Our first stop was Old Town Square. Mounted to the Old Town Hall was the enormous Astronomical Clock. This clock was so big that the hands were taller than me! This is a very special clock because, not only has it kept accurate time for over 600 years, but it also was used to tell the position of the sun and moon. For our next stop we walked across the Charles Bridge. This is a very old bridge in Prague that is made of stone. We took a few minutes to rest and to enjoy the spectacular view of the city. On the bridge you will find local artists hard at work practicing their craft. I stopped and one of them drew my portrait. What a great souvenir! Our next stop was the Prague Castle. This is the largest castle in the world. We were able to tour many rooms and the grounds of the castle. Boy, were my feet tired after all that walking, I was grateful to ride the tram back to the hotel. To view pictures or take a virtual tour of Prague, try this website.
