“In order to improve the quality of life for every Arkansan, we must work together to help those with disabilities live with more independence, dignity, and comfort. Thousands of people across our State live with disabilities or are close to someone with a disability, and we can help to ensure that our communities are cognizant of the special needs of people with disabilities and make every effort to meet those needs.”
First Lady Ginger Beebe
The First Lady recently completed an audio tour that allows the visually impaired to explore the gardens at the Governor’s Mansion. The tour focuses on the aromatic herb garden, allowing visitors to feel and smell each plant. The tour is narrated by Mrs. Beebe, who describes each plant, as well as its uses. The Governor’s Mansion and grounds are also ADA-certified to accommodate those with disabilities.
In addition to ensuring that the Governor’s Mansion is a welcoming place, accessible to all Arkansans, the First Lady also supports many organizations that provide services for the disabled.
