Women's and Children's Issues

“Throughout my experience as a volunteer, I have seen firsthand the issues that women and children face as a result of abuse, illness, domestic violence, or other tragedies. As First Lady of Arkansas, I hope to provide a voice for those women and children who have been silenced for too long.”

First Lady Ginger Beebe

Statistically, one-in-three women will become a victim of domestic violence.  Too often, women and their children become trapped in dangerous situations involving abuse, neglect, and physical or psychological harm.  As First Lady, Mrs. Beebe works to promote awareness about these issues and helps to strengthen programs that liberate women and children from dangerous situations.

Additionally, Mrs. Beebe advocates for centers and programs that assist women and children who need help due to circumstances beyond their control.  Every family goes through loss and difficult times, and the First Lady wants women to be aware of the many services offered in our State that provide comfort and reassurance in times for those in need.

Mrs. Beebe encourages all Arkansans to become involved in organizations that work to address the needs of women and children.  Choose from one of those listed below or one that has personal importance to you.
